Chinese President, Xi Jinping urged young people to carry forward the craftsmanship and strive for excellence to serve the country.

Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chair of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks in a written instruction to congratulate Chinese contestants on their good results at the 45th WorldSkills Competition held in Kazan, Russia.

Xi stressed that technical workers serve as an important foundation supporting made-in-China and created-in-China, and play a key role in high-quality economic growth.

More efforts should be made to improve the system for training, employing, evaluating and motivating skilled workers, develop technical education, carry out vocational training on a large scale, and accelerate the training of a large number of high-quality workers and skilled technical personnel, he said.

"In the whole society, we should carry forward craftsmanship with the pursuit of excellence, and encourage the young people to develop their skills to serve the country," Xi added.

China will hold the 46th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai in 2021. Xi called for meticulous preparation for the event to boost exchanges and mutual learning with other countries in the field and demonstrate China's vocational training achievements.

Premier Li Keqiang said in an instruction that skilled personnel are precious resources for a country and can provide crucial support in advancing industrial upgrading and high-quality development.

Li emphasized further efforts in cultivating skilled workers, developing modern vocational education and technical colleges, and strengthening international cooperation in this regard.

Vice Premier Hu Chunhua said Monday at a conference that effective measures should be taken to create conditions for the growth and success of skilled.

On 27 August 27, the 45th WorldSkills Competition came to a close in Kazan, Russia. At the Closing Ceremony, the

WorldSkills flag, was passed to China as the host of the 46th WorldSkills Competition in 2021.

Over 40,000 people packed the Kazan Arena Stadium to watch the medal presentations, but also to come together to celebrate not just the winners, but all those taking part and the role skills play in our world.

In attendance was President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and President of WorldSkills, Simon Bartley, along with Wang Yongqing, Vice chairn of the CPPCC national committee, Zhang Jinan, Minister of human resources and social security, Ying Yong, Mayor of Shanghai, and Peng Chenlei, Vice mayor of Shanghai.

In the resounding cheers and shouts of the entire audience, medals were announced in each of the 56 skills. project prize list announced in turn.

At the flag handover ceremony, the WorldSkills flag was presented to Wang Yongqing, Zhang Jinan and Ying Yong. Ying Yong accepted the flag, showed it to the whole audience and waved it. Warm applause broke out in the site and the world's eyes focused on Shanghai.

China presented a 10-minute performance titled "Charming China, dynamic Shanghai" to the global audience. They gathered at the national convention and exhibition center, the venue of the WorldSkills Shanghai 2021, to announce to the world with a vigorous attitude: 2021, Shanghai is ready!

Then, the audience experienced the Chinese entertainment as a dozens of young Chinese filled the arena with traditional drumming. Dressed in cheongsam and holding a paper fan, a girl danced her graceful figure, showing the broad and profound Chinese culture, as well as the unique charm of Shanghai and Jiangnan. Then, the stage music become dynamic; a modern international metropolis that embraces all rivers and seas was displayed, demonsrating Shanghai welcomes friends from all over the world with an open mind.

Before the Closing Ceremony, Ying Yong also met with Simon Bartley, President of WorldSkills, and Jos De Goey, President-elect. Ying Yong said that Shanghai was actively already preparing for the 46th WorldSkills Competition and hopes to continue to receive guidance and support from the WorldSkills and the two Presidents.

The WorldSkills Competition, known as the "WorldSkills Olympics", will be held in Shanghai, China in 2021.

The 45th WorldSkills Competition was held in Russia, Kazan where the Organization Committee of the 46th WorldSkills Competition held an official reception. Wang Yongqing, vice chairman of CPPCC national committee announced the 46th mascot and theme slogan. Zhang Jinan, the ministry of human resources and social security minister, Simon Bartley, President of WorldSkills , Olga Vassili, the ministry of education minister of Russia, and Ying Yong, mayor of Shanghai, were all on hand for the special occasion.

Jos De Goey, president-elect of WorldSkills, David Hoey, CEO of WorldSkills International, Zhang Hanhui, Chinese Ambassador to Russia, Tang Tao, vice minister of human resources and social security, Liu Jiayi, deputy director of the committee of culture, history and learning of the CPPCC national committee, and Peng Chenlei, vice mayor of Shanghai also attended the event.

"Welcome friends from five continents to China for the grand gathering of WorldSkills event!" Zhang Jinan said in his speech that the Chinese government attaches great importance to the success of the 46th WorldSkills Competition. Mascot "Nengneng" "Qiaoqiao", the theme slogan "Master skills, Change the world"

The event also revealed the WorldSkills Shanghai 2020 mascots, "Nengneng" and "Qiaoqiao", meaning "skillful craftsman". Wearing overalls, protective goggles and work gloves, they hold the lock of luban, which represents the spirit of traditional craftsmen.

The theme, "Master skills, Change the world", reinforces that skills are the driving force for the development of human civilization, as the common global currency; Master skills to change the world, lead the future, and benefit humankind.

In 2021, the 46th WorldSkills Competition will be held in Shanghai, China. The WorldSkills Museum, jointly built by WorldSkills International, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China and the Shanghai Municipal Government, will also be opened at the same time.

The Museum is located in the area of Yangpu Binjiang, Shanghai. It was rebuilt from the century-old Yong’an pavilion, with a floor area of about 10,000 square meters. It mainly has four functions: exhibition display, interactive experience, education research, and international exchange.

Shen Hao, the project construction director of the WorldSkills Museum, said that the museum will devote itself to building a WorldSkills exhibition center, an international skills cooperation and exchange center, an official documentation center of WorldSkills, and an international youth skills education base to promote international cooperation and exchange and promote the spirit of excellence.

Construction of the museum is underway, and it is expected the reconstruction of the building will be complete by the end of next year employing innovative skills to preserve the characteristics of the historic building.

The WorldSkills Museum team has collected hundreds of exhibition pieces and information domestically and overseas, covering textile, steel, aerospace, electrical, shipbuilding, construction, automobile and other fields, exhibits have physical objects, also have images, tools, character stories and much more.

The WorldSkills Museum exhibition celebrates and promotes the value and role of skilled workers across time and cultures. Visitors will be taken on an exciting, inspiring journey where they will be told the story of WorldSkills, and skills in engaging, immersive formats to encourage them to take up vocational education.

WorldSkills China hosted a skills competition is held Chongqing International Expo Center on 25 May 2019.

Under the theme "skills of cooperation, common development" both Chinese and international Competitors, participated in 18 skills with the aim to improve skill development and create international friendships. The event attracted nearly 700 participants from 44 countries and regions and nearly 50,000 visitors from home and abroad.

From 14 to 19 April 2019, at team representing the organizers of WorldSkills Shanghai 2021 travelled to Kazan, Russia host of the 45th WorldSkills Competition.

The Chinese team included representatives of the Shanghai people club bureau municipal government, municipal foreign affairs office, the city finance bureau, city tourism bureau, the municipal public security bureau, and the city culture article wide group.

Meeting with the hosts of WorldSkills Kazan 219, the teams discussed the organizational structure, personnel requirements, volunteer training programmes, media services, information systems development and operations, and event security.

WorldSkills General Assembly 2018 took place in Amsterdam, Netherlands, 15-18 October 2018.

Over 500 organization representatives, partners, industry representatives and guests from 79 countries/regions attended the event. At the meeting, the Chinese delegation launched the promotion of the organization of WorldSkills Shanghai 2021 and the preparation of the WorldSkills Museum, which aroused strong interest and was warmly welcomed by the participants.
