The Bund, with a total length of 1.5 km is the starting place of Shanghai as a city, in modern times. It is a landmark and historical symbol of Shanghai. Across the river from The Bund, there are the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Jinmao Tower, Shanghai Center, and Shanghai World Financial Center in Lujiazui, Pudong, which are the symbols of China’s reform and opening up, as well as the epitome of Shanghai’s modernizatio.

The Bund has 52 classical Renaissance buildings in diversified architectural styles, known as universal architecture. It is one of the most important historical sites, but also has many buildings that represent modern China, and that are major landmarks of Shanghai.

Xintiandi, located in the center of Shanghai, is a popular urban tourist attraction, which combines history and cultural features, and the integration of Chinese and Western cultures. It is a recreational pedestrian street integrating catering, business, entertainment and culture based on the unique old Shikumen building district in Shanghai.
Taking a stroll in Xintiandi, it feels as if time has turned back to the 1920s and 1930s, but step into any of the houses here and you see modernity and fashion instantly. Xintiandi’s unique concept reflected in its organic combination of architectural past and present, and its layout in graceful disorder combines a symphony of Shanghai’s yesterday, today, and tomorrow, where foreign and domestic tourists find a unique culture.

Yu Garden is located in the northeast of the Old City of Shanghai. It was listed as a national key cultural relic protection site by the state council in 1982. It is a classic garden, built in the Ming dynasty, with a history of more than 400 years, covering more than 30 acres. In the garden, there are three famous stones known as the jade linglong, ancient architecture---Dianchuntang, and the side of the garden has a City God Temple and other tourist attractions.

Founded in 1952, Shanghai Museum is located on 201 Renmin Avenue, Huangpu district, on the south side of the People’s Square in central Shanghai. The museum’s architecture combines a square base and the circular upper level, representing “earth and heaven” in China.

In the heart of the Lujiazui finance and trade zone, Shanghai Tower is a super tall landmark skyscraper. The main building has 118 floors, and a total height of 632 metres. It is the tallest building in China and the second highest in the world. The building integrates office space, an exhibition area, hotel, sightseeing, entertainment, and businesses, with a “Top of the World” function space at the top.

Shanghai Disneyland, the first Disney theme park in mainland China, is located in Chuansha new town, Pudong new area, Shanghai. The park has seven theme areas: Mickey Avenue, Gardens of Imagination, Adventure Isle, Treasure Cove, Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, and Toy Story Land. Many of the rides are firsts in the world. There are two theme hotels: Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel. The park is served by the subway station, Disneyland Station.
