Shanghai has hosted many major events and competitions

Thanks to a vibrant economy, robust international exchanges, complete infrastructure, good law and order, and hospitable citizens, Shanghai has rich experience in hosting competitions and sufficient servicing and logistics capacity. It has successfully staged many major international events, including the 2001 APEC Summit, the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games, Expo 2010 Shanghai China, the CICA Summit 2014 and Import expo 2018. In addition, Shanghai hosts annually the F1 Chinese Grand Prix, the ATP Shanghai Masters and the IAAF Diamond League Shanghai, among other reputable international sports events, and attractive cultural activities such as Shanghai International Festival of Arts and Shanghai International Film and Television Festival.
In June 2017, Shanghai successfully hosted the China International Skills Competition, with 37 WSI members and over 200 competitors participating in 21 events in China.
