Hosts China

Contributing the strength of China to world skills development

As a newer member of WorldSkills since 2010, China is perfectly aligned with the WorldSkills vision and values, and embraces Vision 2025.

WorldSkills Shanghai 2021 will mark China’s participation in the the development of this WorldSkills strategy in a more profound and comprehensive way. It also presents an opportunity for China to make a contribution to global skills development.

China’s decision to host the WorldSkills Competition 2021, shows we are willing to actively promote skills development across the world under the framework of WorldSkills International.
  • China will encourage Fortune 500 companies in China, and other large enterprises to join the WorldSkills sponsorship programme in support of the WorldSkills Competition and other WorldSkills events.
  • China will make full use of its increasingly close economic ties with a majority of developing countries, as well as the Belt and Road strategy, to help more developing countries to join WorldSkills, share the experience of WorldSkills, and carry out domestic skills competitions and events in line with the WorldSkills vision and standards, and participate in WorldSkills Competitions and cooperation.
  • China will provide talent development assistance to developing countries as per their needs for industrial development and skilled talent.
  • China will encourage the adoption of the WorldSkills standards for Chinese goods and services, which are exported worldwide in large quantities and will help to disseminate WorldSkills standards everywhere in a more extensive and profound manner, expanding their influence on the global economy.
